This week, NUS hosted fringe events at both the TUC Conference in Liverpool and the Liberal Democrats Conference in Bournemouth against the backdrop of huge speculation over their position on University funding and tuition fees.
On the panel at the TUC event was NUS President Wes Streeting, David Coats (Associate Director of Policy, The Work Foundation), Rt Hon Genna Stawski (Fabian Society). David Lammy MP (Minister for Higher Education and Intellectual Property), Pam Tatlow (Chief Executive, million +), Sarah Veale (Head, Equality and Employment Rights Department, TUC).
The Liberal Democrat event featured a panel made up of Phil Willis MP (Chair of the Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Select Committee), Professor Les Ebdon CBE (Chair of million+ and Vice Chancellor of the University of Bedfordshire), Sarah Carr (Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire) and NUS Vice President (HE) Aaron Porter.
